On April 22-23, 2022, the 13th KfH Home Dialysis Congress took place in Cologne. The congress focussed on the change in nephrology treatment to more home dialysis and thus the progress made in the field of dialysis at home. All participants and speakers agreed that home dialysis must be recultivated and developed forward.
Dr. Benno Kitsche, KfH Chairman’s Representative for the further development and promotion of home dialysis, is certain: “Green dialysis and home dialysis are moving towards each other, are mutually dependent. This development is leading to a future of renal replacement therapy that will increasingly take place at home or on the move. It is no longer a question of whether this will happen, but rather when, how quickly and how we will actively shape this change. Ultimately, it’s about improving treatment options for patients with chronic kidney disease.” More information and insights from the congress can be found here: https://heimdialysekongress.kfh.de/
